In Nepal's hills and mountains, millets play a significant role as food crops in guaranteeing the food and nutrition security of marginalized people and smallholder farmers. The purpose of this essay is to provide an overview of Nepal's millet commerce, both domestically and internationally. The study evaluates possibilities for both local and international trade using information from farm households, market surveys, and time series. The official source is the source of the foreign trade data, which includes imports and exports, over the last 14 years (2009–2022). We evaluated the rise in imports, exports, and the general dynamics of the millets trade in Nepal using the following metrics: compound growth rate, coefficient of variation, instability index, and trade specialization index.
